This is an excellent "down home" BBQ establishment. It's very low-key and relaxed, but the food is excellent and the portions are large. We were travelling through Salina when we stopped in for dinner. My we could have easily shared a meal. The only negative was that my daughter ordered one of the Super Spuds. Awesome BBQ Chicken! Half Chicken, Smoked, with just the right spices, crispy skin, super moist inside, 2 sides, Texas toast and drink! Super friendly service at the counter, too!
I had the chicken, which was very overcooked. My husband had the ribs...very tough. Good flavors, but not good texture. The onion rings, however, were fantastic!!!
I'm a regular. My Wife went to the pick up window this morning and was greeted by a girl who shouldn't be there. Totally disrespectful and rude. My wife has worked Retail forever. And would never treat good customers with a care less attitude. It'll be a long time before I frequent your business. There is Hog Wild .

Great food run by a great family! Definitely a must when anywhere close to Salina!
I just went thru the drive thru at Hickory Hut and had the best service I've. Had anywhere in a long time. The young lady spoke so you could hear and under stand her. She was extremely pleasant. Her voice made you feel like she was glad you were there. This is totally opposite of the rude treatment we received at the subway on east crawford. Dale, Brittany is a keeper. She deserves a raise.
Our group left happy and filled. Good eats, plenty of variety. Not the best. But damn good, all the same.
