Today I had day surgery and was very anxious. I have been to many hospitals in my life. We have now been to Hervey bay hospital a few times now and I find the staff, from cleaners to surgeons are all so pleasant and proffessional and LOVELY. I was so nervous and they treated me with the utmost respect. I did find though these poor buggers are run off their feet, so if anyone complains about them, maybe take into consideration the amount of stress and handwork they do. Absolutely appalling, every time my Mother goes there, she comes out worse than when she went in, I sat down with Snr Nursing Staff and they apologised for mistakes made with medication by the head Dr (Team Leader), that mistake caused two medical emergencies, one of the Nurses said "I've never seen a hospital run like this" the Hervey Bay Hospital is a danger to the Public, I dread to think how many people, have suffered and lost their lives needlessly due to gross incompetence, "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES" use the Hervey Bay H... read more

I wouldn't want to be really dying turning up to A&E at HB regional hospital but one would think that an excruciatingly painful suspected perforated bowel following a colonoscopy might get a bit more attention than being told to wait in the Green zone in agonizing pain for nearly 2 hours. Only 2 other people here when I arrived. What's the point in having a hospital that can't cope with minimum attendance in a quiet time when the area is expanding so rapidly. My husband went to the hospital by ambulance at 11.30pm Wednesday night. There were no beds in emergency so he was put into the waiting room. He had put his back out really bad. He was in so much pain they had to give him the green whistle to more him from home. He sat in emergency waiting room for 20 hours, a Dr came and seen him ordered a C t scan which he had. They said they were going to admit him so not to go home. By 7pm Thursday night they still hadn’t found him a bed. He had been awake for 2 days. I went and got him ... read more

I would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Hervey Bay hospital for their care of myself for my operation and stay. It made me feel safe and cared for and I can not thank them enough as I am a real stress head.
