Tonight I’m sitting at home with a blood pressure of 198/131 thanks to the hospital in the home,Drs, after a suspected stroke on wed afternoon, they have said I’m fine to go home undiagnosed because they have no MRI, with Blood pressures ranging from 177/98 to 212/131. I’ve now found out that under no circumstances was I suitable, due to a lack of communication from the health professionals, I got up out of bed and just came home. Re. Emergency Department Hervey Bay Hosp. After recently experience taking a relative into Hervey Bay Hospital I'm pleased to write that it was a very good experience. We arrived late in the evening. The staff were friendly, the hospital facilities were clean and the facilities didn't seem to be overstretched. I'm sure that people experience this hospital differently when really really busy but I found the triage very fast, the doctor's evaluation very swift and the nurses very skilled. The hospital is in crisis. The staff do an impossible job, totally run off their feet. There are simply not enough beds either in the wards or in ER. 3 hours in ER waiting room, triage makes no sense. Clearly very sick people waiting hours, especially the elderly, while small children running around happily and people laughing and scrolling phones seen first.
