Horrific. Returned the car - agent said to place the keys in the basket in front of her.. boarded my flight… then spent the next FIVE DAYS battling customer service reps unsuccessfully, trying to figure out why I kept receiving warning texts that my car was never returned, that I was legally responsible for it until it was returned, and that I was incurring late fees and additional costs. Took longer to make a payment for a rental car than it was to fly to Key West. Staff is hard to understand, move with no urgency. Be ready to wait.

I rented a vehicle in Key West, Florida, and was only in possession of the vehicle from June 10 through June 12. However, I was charged for an additional two days beyond my actual rental period. I have documentation, including my flight itinerary and boarding information, showing that I departed Key West on June 12 and returned to Atlanta, Georgia on that date. I wish I would have read the reviews on this Hertz car rental location before I gave them my business. This was the absolute worst customer service that I have ever experienced from ANY car rental location. They do not answer their phone EVER. The lady at the counter was incredibly rude, and very clearly did not care about doing her job. With the number of bad reviews I’m surprised the company hasn’t done anything to improve this, but they obviously do not care either. You have lost my business. DO BETTER.
