We have been taking our dog and cat to Heron Lakes Animal Hospital for over 5 years now. Dr. Lera has been spot on with all of his diagnoses and you can really see the love he has for animals. The staff is very friendly and always does their best trying to accommodate us. Would highly recommend using this veterinarians office for all of your furry friends needs!
Dr. Lera and his staff are by far the best veterinarian office I’ve ever been to. Dr. Lera is honest, extremely caring, puts me at ease when I’m nervous. For example, one of my dogs is about 16 years old. This is my first time caring for an elderly dog whom I’ve had since she was 8 weeks old. So today I got nervous and brought her in and Dr. Lera completely put me at ease. I am very thankful for the whole staff who got me into the office immediately. I highly recommend this office!!!
The staff is so warm and inviting. You are never rushed and they are willing to answer any questions you may have. If they do not know the answer, they will be sure to look up information to provide you with a valid answer rather than suggesting information that may or may not be accurate. My pup actually enjoys going to the vet!
Dr. Lera is a calm, patient Veterinarian. I highly recommend him. His staff is very warm, friendly and attentive. Sandy’s Grooming located inside the Vet’s office is the best groomer I’ve ever used.

For years, I went to the same vet. Well my vet retired and the hunt was on to find a vet that actually cares. You know the kind, the one that will actually get on the floor and play with your dog or even take the time to pet your dog. I went to several vets and they were all clinical, I was just a number.
