Great service, competitive prices I can't disagree with the last reviewer more. I have always received excellent service from the Boardroom staff and salespeople, whether from the manager JP or the assorted salespeople. My husband recently purchased a snowboard for me as an early Christmas present and JP was able to direct him to a less expensive model that would better meet my needs then the one I wanted. I have always liked Herb Bauer's – Over the years my wife and I have spent $1000's at Herb Bauer's. Everrything from a canoe to ski's & firearms. The staff has always been excellent and professional. They have the best selection of almost everything in Fresno. Gunshops can be intimidating for some women. The guys there have always answered her questions and treated her well. Herb's will always get my $$.

always SO rude. So rude. Everytime I go in the employees give TERRIBLE service. Not only are the NOT helpful, but they go out of their way to make you feel like you are not welcome in the store, or like you "don't belong there." I always go back hoping for better service, because unfortunately they are one of the only stores in Fresno that carries high-end snowboard equipment, But they always continue to show me how crappy their customer service is. The Boardroom - Snowbaording I have visted The Herb Bauer Boardroom several times in the past two years 08-10 and have recieved great assistance from the employees in the snowboarding department. Every time I have visted The Boardroom the employees have taken their time to answer all my questions even in the knowledge that I was not going to purchase anything. Need more friendly staff – Herb Bauers mis a great sporting goods store. I mostly shop at the Gun and Hunting department, but God forgive if I need help or ask a question. The staff is very unfreindly and very short with their answers. It seems like they don't want to be there and it's a bother to them when you need help.

Herb Bauers Firearm Department – For the last 15 years I have purchsed firearms and ammunition and found the staff very busy and helpfull. They have helped me load cases of 12 gauge ammunition and boxes of clay targets into my car. They have helped me return pistols to the manufacturer for problem correction at no cost to me. I would guess that those with problems with the store just were in a hurry and could not wait for help. Yes the emploees should offer to help but sometimes you must ask for help. Lack of basic customer service and communication I have repeatedly experienced a significantly negative attitude from their expert in the roof rack department. He never followed through to inform me that my Thule order was back ordered by their supplier and to let me know the new delivery date.

My latest experience was just today 08/23/09, wherein I entered the store intent on purchasing a handgun and when I asked if they carry a particular brand of handgun, the employee treated me as if I were stupid merely for asking.
