Don't waste your time or money here. My first & last visit to Herb Bauer. Bunch of D-bags working behind the gun counter w/ no real life customer service or even experience. There's plenty of store in Fresno with better service & pricing, here's a example of their commies pricing: Remington 870 SM, Herb asking 400 for a used one on the rack, got a brand new 870 SM @ sports authority for 350 along w/ mfg rebate. NO JOKE! Not even sure how such a store with horrible service stays in business, maybe thanks to Bakerloo... lol ..... read more
What a JOKE! I went to purchase a fire arm at Herb Bauer and their staff go out of their way to make you feel like an idiot! I am not an expert in guns but I would like to think I know a thing or two. I asked for a certain model of gun and was told it is not for sale in CA. Not a problemâ?¦ but when I asked why the sales rep laughed at me and said "short answer....a bunch of commies in the state capitol". Firearm department staff – Horrible .........was shopping for a deer rifle for my 13 year old son .....was to be his first rifle ..I related this to one of the staff who then showed me a Remington 243....the size I was looking for...it was priced $720.00 . I told him it was more than I wanted to spend .....that I had been shopping around and had been looking in the $350 to $400 range he responded by saying "OK" put the gun back on the shelf and walked away with no further help or interest . zero One star would be too many. IMHO Don't know how they've managed to stay in business, let alone grow. there's certainly room in Fresno for a kayak shop that is run in a professional manner, with just plain common courtesy.

Poorly supervised bike dept. – Wanted to purchase a bike as a birthday gift, but as I was looking around all I could hear were gay slurs and expletives coming from the young men working in the store. Needless to say I will make my purchase from one of the other bike shops in town. If I could give no stars I would. This is not my first negative visit to this store but it will be my last.
Gun Dept Staff needs training or replacement – I agree with the several 1-star comments about the gun department. Some staff (maybe not all) roll their eyes when you ask a question (if you can ever get them to wait on you). I guess that's suppose to let you know how much smarter they are, how dumb your question is, and how irritated they are that you bothered them at all. Customer service? HAHA I only shop at Bauers when I have to. It's a fully equipped store with nice stuff with the WORST sales staff ever. I'm an older guy and I've been in several times to get various snowboard items for my grandaughter. The staff usually just looks at me like I'm old so I must be in the wrong department. I was in a couple of weeks ago for a helmet and wrist braces. As usual none of the sales staff offered assistance or even acknowledged my presence.
