To Whom It May Concern, I’m writing to bring attention to my recent experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality and temperature of my food were unacceptable. When I received my food, it was extremely hot—much hotter than it should have been. It was so hot that I actually burned my tongue. I arrived around 11:00–12:00, which is normally a time when food should be fresh and being prepared for customers. FOOD WAS NASTY. We was ready to have a Hot Fresh Soul Food Dinner. Fish was Dark Dark brown cooked in Old Grease. Turkey Wings was Dry. Chicken Wings was like bubble gum. Greens was cooked in Dirty Water. Cabbage was in Red Pepper water. Yams and Pototes Salad was undercooked. And it was all COLD NOT EVEN WARM TO THE TOUCH. I CALL BACK TO TALK TO THE MANAGER/OWNER SHE WAS NOT UNDERSTANDING SAYING WE JUST COOK EVERYTHING TODAY. THAT WAS A LIE. WE JUST TRASH IT $138.42 I WILL NEVER BUY NOTHING FROM THEM AGAIN.
My boyfriend and I got the catfish dinner with cabbage and candied yams for our sides, and everything was absolutely amazing! Hands down, one of the best soul food spots in D.C. If you’ve been thinking about trying this place, we highly recommend it! We’ll definitely be back again soon!
It was our 1st time here at this location. We ordered and a few minutes later our food was ready in the bag. We took it back to our room and the portions were nice. Two thumbs up on everything flavor and all. We will be back!
