I have been going to HMUCC since they opened and have never had a bad experience. They are so good and easy to get in to see I prefer to go there instead of my Primary Care Physician at UCLA a block away. Dr. Jordon Michelena, Samantha and the rest of the staff at HMUCC are the best in the business IMHO. I decided to changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars today 9/2/2017 because I had communicated with the owner after this incident and he apologized for the bad experienced I had. He did some investigation of the situation and promised me that he will correct the issues. I appreciate his professionalism. I wish Henry Mayo Urgent Care Center best of luck. I was seen promptly on April 13th by Dr. Michelina for a serious pain in my left knee. The doctor provided a brace, some pain meds and recommended that I get an MRI asap to make sure it isn't a torn meniscus. I made an appointment for an MRI the same day and the imaging company contacted my insurance company; which requires a peer review before authorizing the procedure. Ten days later NO ONE at HMUCC has bothered to call the insurance company (with the information provided by the imaging center) to provide that peer review.... read more
This is my second experience with them and it once again horrible. I waited half an hour in the exam room for the nurse to perform a strep test she more than likely contaminated, and when that came back negative the doctor was ready to send me home. Only have I insisted that I thought it was an infection, did the doctor swab my throat for a culture.
