I have never had a doctor's office or clinic so dead set on working against me. A patient's health should be discussion and course of care course determined by patient input, also known as patient-centered care or shared decision-making, involves actively involving patients in healthcare decisions, respecting their autonomy and preferences, and tailoring treatment plans to their individual needs and values. I certainly didn't experience this in clinic.
I am eternally grateful for Dr. Jenell Stewart. She made my diagnosis as comfortable as possible. She has compassion and empathy and kindness. Words truly cannot express the love I felt from her. She cares so much about her patients. Special shout-out to nurse Calista. I could not ask for a better team. I feel so so SO lucky to have them. Keep it up, HCMC positive care!
