I have been using Hecox for a number of years for my HVAC needs and I've been happy with their service until... this year. I think their business is getting bigger and busier. Almost two months wait time to get a maintenance service scheduled and the price has gone up significantly - $105 for one unit service and another $35 for coming out. I was supposed to get an estimate for AC replacement which never received. I reached out via email and no response. This year's experience was less than total satisfaction.
We've used Hecox for 6 years. In 2025, they replaced both of our condenser fan motors in our 2 AC units. In July 2026, they told us one is broken again and needs to be replaced. These typically last 10+ years before needing replacement! And, since we are about 2 months past the "warranty period" they want to charge us full price AGAIN to pay for the work they just did last year. This is either poor work, faulty parts or both. Super disappointed and do not recommend.
July 4, 2026 weekend brought record-breaking, sweltering heat but did not stop Gayle and Manny to come by on short notice and an unscheduled service call to troubleshoot and fix my heat pump failure. Hecox is old school, honest and customer service focused. Checkbook recommended and I can agree 100%!
If it was possible to give Hecox Home Services, more than 5 stars we would in a heartbeat. It is increasingly difficult nowadays to find folks that are competent in the trades, let alone honest, and just good people. The folks at Hecox are all of the above and pulled us out of a bind when our AC went out. Gayle and his team were responsive, communicative, and took care of us like we were family. We were back in business in short order. Thank you so much!
Had an appointment for an estimate on an HVAC replacement. Got a text that the tech was on his way 29 minutes before the scheduled time, then a complete no-show. I had to reach out myself to find out what happened. Apparently the tech couldn’t find parking, so they quietly decided it was “not a job they would be taking” and left me waiting. Can’t handle DC parking… can’t be bothered to notify me when they bail… dodged a bullet.
