It is too bad that a few people with problems write the reviews which I do respect but there are hundreds that drive away happy and dont think of saying a thing. I have used this shop for years. Same management and same mechanics with years of combined experience. They are honest and fair and would always make things right if there is ever an issue. No longer theshop it use to be – Change of ownership? Whoever is running this place is doing a bad job. This use to be the best shop in town. I can no longer trust them to work on my car. They fixed my car and soon after the problem showed up again. No call back after I dropped it off and horrible communication when I finally called them to find out what was going on.

Lack of customer appreciation and service – I have been a loyal customer for close to 20 years. I have faithfully brought my KG and Transporter in for service and spent 10's of thousands of dollars. Work and service has always been pretty good until this last time. I brought my bus in on scheduled appointment for front end work. I understood that the repairs could take up to a week to complete. Best mechanics I've ever met!!! – When I called Heckmann and Thiemann, I immediately noticed that the staff was very friendly. And they actually had room for me to drop my car off the NEXT day. Being a woman, I sometimes think that the mechanics are going to talk down to me, like I have no idea about cars. They fixed my car the same day and explained everything nicely. Tried to sell me unnecessary services. – Took my car in for a brake inspection/repairs. Turns out the brakes had plenty of life left in them... rather than let me go with just the inspection fee the mechanic told me the car had "multiple oil leaks," that timing belt was "oil soaked" and should be replaced right away. When I asked him to focus on the squeak in the rear brake he said he wouldn't touch it unless I agreed to a complete rear brake job. Is this Legal? – Took my car in to have it looked at. In "looking at it" they replaced my Ping Sensor...and charged me $250. Don't these places have to call for my approval? I give them a big FLUNK. When I called and asked about being charged for something without being told about what it was or how much it cost, I was told that I should take my business elsewhere. I thought only BANKS did business like that. Be careful with these guys!

Quick, Accurate and Friendly. VW'ers who know exactly how to work out old VW "Gremlins" – I was having multiple problems with my 89 GTI 16v. Not only were they able to take care of ever issue I asked them to address, but they did it in two days! The labor rates are scary at first. But, when they get the problems fixed, quickly and accurately (none of that "well I guess that wasn't the problem after all, better bring her back next week" nonsense). A Very Good Little Shop – My wife's '96 Jetta was leaking oil. Oh No! we thought. Having driven by Heckmann & Thiemann a few times, we said let's give them a try. Leak turned out to be a bolt that needed replacing. Total bill was 6 bucks!! When was the last time you walked out of a garage for less than $50? So we've been going back to them for the last 4 years. They are good, they DO KNOW their german cars and they'll even tell you what brand of gas to use.

The Best of the Best!!!! – I was really stressed about my car and the fact that the turn signals and brake lights were not working, so I went to Heckmann and Thiemann on a recommendation. Not only was the service impecable, my car was done in less than a day and the price was more than reasonable. I even got updates from them throughout the day about my car. This place is the best. You will not be sorry you chose them. I will now take this VW and all future VW's here.
