Heather Stoyme at Novant Health Psychiatric in Shallotte, NC is an exceptional therapist and has listening skills that are exceptional. She is kind, prompt, organized and respectful. For the pass 7 years or so, she has helped me develop skills to manage my bipolar disorder. I feel her professional support a safe environment to discuss my anxieties and triggers that at times put me into a manic episode. I canceled my next session with Heather, and cannot recommend her as a therapist. I felt that she was condescending, did not validate my feelings without judgement, and her solutions to my issues were not practical or worked for my problems. She clicked many boxes in the EMR to describe my “specific needs” without even discussing them its me. You would think that discussing a patient’s potential plan of care with them would be important.

I have been going to Heather for a over a year now and I am in a much better place now. She is good at what she does and is a very kind person. If you are seeking help I would definitely recommend coming here. Thank you Heather for helping me get my life back together.
