My experience with HMA has been extremely frustrating and stressful. Back in November 2025, their website showed that I was close to meeting my out-of-pocket maximum for the year. Horrible insurance. They literally deny EVERYTHING. Constantly don't know what they're talking about. They charge you out of network for in network, then you call and they're like ooops. No one on support knows what they're talking about. It says they offer 15,000 for IVF and they denied EVERY PART of my IVF coverage. Down to medications, procedure, everything. Provider portal shows that patients claims payments as EFT payments. Meaning they send to the bank. But actually payments were sent via check payment which were never received. "No problem we will resend these give us 15 days." Wait I've just told you we haven't received ONE thing in the mail from you, which was previously "mailed", and you want us to wait another 2 weeks for these payments to be "mailed" a second time? An absolute nightmare of a company. While I was "covered" by HMA, they failed to cover a routine doctors visit. This was as straightforward a lapse on their part as you can imagine. Months later, I have made countless calls, filled out forms and numerous emails only to be partially reimbursed for the out of pocket expenses I covered.
