TLDR: the University of Utah Hematology clinic failed me completely. And, by extension, care by a ‘Hematologist’ in any ‘blood clotting’ scenario is useless vs utilizing your PCP. This is coming from someone with FOUR (4) lifetime PE/DVT incidents, the most recent while ON ELIQUIS, and have been managing “on ‘blood thinners’ for my entire life” the past 15+ years… You want more detail? It’s hard to understand why the sick waiting area is located directly inside the front door. High-risk patients, including those with cancer and pregnant women, are required to walk past sick individuals just to check in. This setup doesn’t align with basic infection-control principles. Other than that, the facility is nice.
I went to multiple doctors in Idaho & no one helped me properly. Nothing they did helped, it just made me worse for 2 1/2 years. At Health University of Utah the doctors were really kind & knew what was wrong with me. They actually listened to what I had to say & I am getting better after a few weeks of medicine.
