Soooo, 2 days after I bring my mother to the ER for a possible pulmonary embolism (which she didn't have, thank goodness), I'm heading back with my step-father who turns out to have a partial bowel blockage. Hell of a week. Once again, though, triage comes out to see him within 15 minutes of walking in the door. 15 minutes after that, he is in an exam room, and they are taking blood because they are going to order an abdomen CT and we need labs back before they can do it. Excellent experience from beginning to end. The waiting room was crowded and I thought we'd be there forever before being seen, but we were called in to triage within 15 minutes or so. Within 20 minutes I was in a room and a nurse and the ER doc had been in, had my vitals done, an IV put in, and my history taken. Blood was taken and within an hour the blood results were back and I was taken for my CT. The ER doc looked at the CT and came in to reassure me he saw nothing serious, but we had to wait for the radiologist read... read more
