We did a half day private fly fishing trip with Bret. Being first timers Bret was a great and patient teacher (despite my losing his flys in way too many trees). He took us to several 'local only' spots where we caught two rainbow and a brown trout that gave quite a fight. We highly recommend Outfitters. Staff were great and easy to work with. Ask for Bret if you go.
Excellent one-stop shop for food, drinks, gear, merchandise, fishing, kayaking and more! Great people.

We had a party of 20 and rented tubes to go down the river. Very friendly staff and clean equipment. Highly recommend, great time had by all!
This is one of our favorite places in the mountains!! Jessica was wonderful when our group arrived and our instructor was nice, funny, and gave great instructions for our trip down the river. The river was peaceful and the Sun and the cool water was perfect!! I hated I didn’t get to see David and Debbie but will see you guys soon!!
The French Broad River is beautiful and we had a great self-guided paddle. We will be back! The people are nice and helpful. I am looking forward to a guided trip next time.
Half day fishing with Ryan was spectacular. Shop staff was great. Food truck was amazing. Beer was cold.
Rented a kayak and the party in front of me rented tubes , one of the women was 7 months pregnant (she should have knew better herself but ) about a mile down from the drop off point I came across the pregnant girl and a 6 year old holding on to one tube the other which have a leak bottom line I had to jump from my kayak and walk against a strong water to get the 2 out of the water and up a hill and walk across a field to get help.
