This hospital is the worst, they killed my father. If you are elderly and taken to the ER with a broken hip, transfer to another hospital. Staff in the ER and nurses did not listen to us about the meds he was on, pumped him full of fluids in surgery and he died from pulmonary edema. They did not give him lasix during or after surgery. He was in recovery forever, the surgeon never spoke to us after surgery. We had to put him on hospice in the hospital, which was another nightmare. The hospital did an investigation on my reviews they said they assisted me to the bathroom which I was on an alarm anytime I got out of bed it went off so they gave me the bedpan with no toilet paper they said they gave my meds at 9:27 a.m. which my husband was there and I did not receive my medication until around 3:00 p.m. that's falsification of medical records I bet a nurse 30 years and if I acted that way I would have been fired from any Hospital our trauma ICU at UNF so I know what it's like to be a nurse I also know w... read more
In the ICU I was taken care of by a very competent nurse, Maria (RN), who provided me with the greatest of care. She took the time to explain all the steps with great care and saw me through the transition time from ICU to a regular room. And I express that I was treated with the greatest of respect and professional care. Excellent care for my recent unexpected visit. Treated well by all.
ER thee entrance is nasty , go inside the staff is the rudest , unprofessional. I would take a sick dog in the damn place . My wife suffered for 7 hours 1 pain shot the attitude suck she had a neck brace on when she got back there they removed and lost it wouldn’t let get up use the bathroom , her contacts were all dried , vision burr . I had her removed nobody deserves to be treated like a animal .
Hospital is dangerous and dirty
Charge Nurse Vanessa who worked on the 9th Floor in the North Tower on 8/3/22 was very unfair and not very nurse friendly. The hospital was uncleaned and the treatment was unfair. When dealing with the sick you should show some compassion, she has none. The nurse talk among themselves not caring if a patient can hear the negative things that are being said. I wouldn't even rate this hospital with one star. In May 2022 the hospital was inspected by the Agency for Health Care Administration in Florida and found that rules and laws were violated when they completed an unannounced visit between April 28th and April 29th 2022. The visit was initiated by a complaint that I filed on behalf of my mother who was a patient in April and May 2021. She was misdiagnosed with a stroke when she had viral encephalitis. This one star is only concerning the Emergency Room department and the lack of care and professionalism in this particular area. First, I would like to add that I have had at least 6 surgeries and 4 hospital stays at this hospital. The same day surgery team and the main hospital are wonderful. I've left excellent reviews regarding these two areas. The Emergency Room department and staff is a totally different story.
