Great place. First of all a double cheeseburger is not 2 separate patties stacked on the bun. They roll the patties together and make 1 then cook it on the flat top. They put onions and pickles then a brief steam makes it oh so wonderful. They only take cash but there is an ATM out back. So I took my almost 2 year old grandson there. Love this place ...great food and great people!!! My dad loved eating here so I wanted to bring my kids here as well!
Was in Kansas City last week and my only regret is not going to Hayes everyday! I had a chili dog and hamburger for lunch one day and now that I am back in California I am craving their food! Highly recommend this little diner.
Always a great experience. Eaten there multiple times! Big group and with just two! I love it at Hayes!
