Save your money over priced, your pet is not in good hands here don't assume because it costs more and its also a hospital its the best place because it is not as we have experienced, young kids work the boarding area and any requests you have before you leave on vacation stay in there computer as my dog was hurt when I returned to pick him up.
We boarded our toy poodle there for 12 days while we were on vacation. We paid for extra attention from the staff due to her age. She was an older dog but in good health when we left. When we returned she had lost over 25% of her body weight. She had been virtually ignored to loose that much weight. Not only did they fail to treat her in a timely manner they failed even to notice she had stopped eating until the day before our return. She lived for another 3 weeks before passing due to congestive heart failure.
The system at Hawthorne is too impersonal and repeticious..There are so many staff that individual attention by a medical practicioner is impossible..Being shuffeled from vet to vet and the over abundance of being asked the same questions by different people is frankly and insult...The once personal, and individual attention provided by Hawthorne is gone and it now more resembles a money mill...The doctors are very capable but their system does not take advantage of their abilities. When we took my dog here at 1 AM. They treated her with care. After many tests and screenings they said she had multiple things wrong with her. We ended up putting her down. We had another vet before who told us days earlier nothing was wrong. Btw Olsen Vet Clinic stinks (literally and metaphorically) It may be a little pricy but its worth it.
