RecommendedHawthorn animal hospital is a great small town vet. They’ve been all my dogs and cats vets over the years. They really seem to care about the animals and have decent pricing and are honest about treatments.

Hawthorne Animal Hospital seems to have a commitment to the animals, not themselves. They don't have a fancy building or waiting room and their prices are much lower than other places. I have paid 2-3 times more at other facilities. My sister sent me to them because they are a 'country vet' with a mission to do what is medically necessary and what is the BEST FOR THE ANIMAL. Hawthorne has been great to all the crazy lady rescue animals and my own personal animals!
I came to Hawthorne several years ago when my dog tore his ACL. I went there for a second opinion and (hopefully) a lower charge for my dog's ACL repair. Dr. Gerstner was a breath of fresh air! Honest and straightforward and she did such a perfect job on my boy's knee. Everything she ever did or said was for the best for my fur baby. Since then, we've brought all our kitties and dogs to them. I can tell they all truly love our pets and would do whatever it takes to help them. My sweet girl went into get spayed. Before the procedure could even happen they muzzled her because she was anxious and barking and didn’t want her barking to upset other dogs. This stressed her out so bad that it killed her. Acute pulmonary edema is what I’m told.
They are the best I have ever experienced. Love them.
