Quinn Hatfield's deft touch in the kitchen shines through on his short but dead-on, market-fresh menu. Appetizers are playful: Fabulously fleshy charred octopus is offset by a citrus-candied orange rind, and an updated croque madame features fresh hamachi, along with proscuitto, quail egg and out-of-this-world brioche. Main courses are uniformly excellent, be it juicy pan-roasted seabass, meaty duck breast that eats like a steak, and luscious, mint-crusted rack of lamb. For desserts, Karen Hatfield outdoes herself with the m... read more

Outstanding Halibut – This is the best restaurant I've tried in the last year. You can tell the difference when you have a chef-driven restaurant. And at Hatfield's you can watch them cook through through open kitchen. The restaurant is a bit formal, so it's more of an adult atmosphere. When you sit down they give a crab amuse-bouche, extremely tasty. They have a great halibut and a nice rack of lamb. The desserts are also special, with beignets the highlight. The beignets come with a root beer shake which is fantastic. I'd ... read more
Citysearch Editorial Review – Having moved to bigger and better digs on the corner of Melrose and Citrus in February 2010, this L.A. mainstay hasn't missed a beat. With nary a resemblance to the space formerly known as Red Pearl Kitchen, the soft, sophisticated palette keeps a soothing visual tempo: hexagonal light sculptures add a soft glow to the sparse space--the gorgeous exhibition kitchen is all the show you need. More of an anti-scene, the crowd is a mix of faithful foodies and well-heeled couples who have come to rely... read more
Good tasting menu – Their tasting menu has more substance than Providence's. But Providence is better.
small but great – small touch cramped . Great food from lamb chops to Branzino.
Best deal in town – I have been a fan of Hatfields for a while especially since my husband and I live right around the corner. We were in last night to celebrate our anniversary and to our suprise they had just started some kind of special spring pre fixed menu. Any appetizer, entree and dessert for $49. Are you kidding me? When you consider the amazing bread , Amuse Bouche and cupcakes with your check this has got to be the best deal in town.
Fantastic! It's a very small, quaint place that isn't fancy, but the food is amazing. The cheese bread is addicting. It was the first time I tried quail egg and it was great. I loved their short ribs and the deserts were yummy.
Amazing food, great service – After hearing all of the rumors about Hatfields and missing my previous opportunity to go, my boyfriend and I finally made it in. I thought the food was nothing short of amazing. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and happy to explain the elements of the dishes without making me feel stupid (as some often do!) We started out with the mackerel and the chef's take on the "croque madame". Both were superb and my only complaint is that there wasn't more. My boyfriend had the lamb and I had th... read more
