Great service, And Greater People – After having a long and hopeless search for eye care and accessories I stumbled across Harvard Square eye care. I am a single father of 3 children(2 boys, 1 girl) and a new comer to the Boston area and trips to the eye doctors are a regular for me. When I arrived at the porter square location which gave us a very warm and comfortable feeling we were greeted by the doctor who helped out with every question we had. Going above and beyond to seek the answers which left me very satisfied. When... read more
Another Job Well Done – As I left my job I was surprised to see Harvard Square eye care?s other location In Harvard. I was having trouble with my frames and went in with a simple question. As I chatted with the doctor my frames were quickly repaired. And once again I left a very satisfied customer. As I browsed around I saw a wider selection of frames and sunshades that grabbed my eye. After moving miles away from what I?ve grown very accustomed to in LA I'm glad to see people on the east coast possess the same customer serv... read more
Avoid this "family business" – This family operates a rather dishonest business. I was there on two different days with two different daughters. At the Harvard Square store, Daughter #1 was given an eye exam (without dilation of pupils by request), and was told the charge was $65 for which she owed a copay of $10. So far so good. We then went to Porter Square to choose frames. She chose a pair of Ogi frames and Mr. D. (husband of Dr. D) quoted $395 with a 10% discount. The lenses were $150; total with tax just over $500. Great selection, friendly staff and caring doctor – I have been using the same eye doctor for many years but I just happened to walk past Harvard Square Eye Care in Cambridge and figured I would take a look. When I first walked in I was amazed at the unique selection of frames. The staff was able to get me a quick appointment with the primary Doctor (Dr. Dickerman) who is also the owner. How can you beat that!?!?! She gave me a very thorough exam and I was able to find some very nice Gucci frames. The office also accepted my... read more
An awful, very unpleasant experience – I will never return here. At most optometrists, one receives their eyeglasses back within 3-4 business days, perhaps a week utmost. I had to wait over a month for my glasses to be delivered to me. Additionally, the customer service was absolutely terrible. I had to call repeatedly to find out where my eyeglasses were as the office would never call to follow up on the situation. In summary, overpriced, rude, incompetent.
