Beautiful cakes with care! My 4 year old daughter has an obsession with ponies and unicorns. For her birthday cake she specifically stated she wanted a cake with a unicorn and a rainbow on it. I checked with all of the supermarket bakeries, all of whom just pointed to "the book" and said, if it isn't in there, we can't do it. Driving home and ready to give up, I happened to pass Harter's. great products This place has been around since I was little. They always have a great selection of pastries and it smells soooo good inside. Their staff is always very friendly and I've never had a problem with anything I've ever ordered from here. Their cakes are delicious- we order them every year and for any event we need a cake. Their prices are really reasonable for a bakery.
cutest dog cake ever! I ordered a dog cake for my 5yo birthday and it looked so real! Lots of icing to make this dog, but many comments on how neat it was! I love their tasty treats and this bakery makes me feel like a kid again!
WOW Still WONDERFUL...several years ago they changed hands, but the degree of excellence has continued if not gotten even better! I'd rate them as one of the best bakeries in the St. Louis area, if not the best!
Stale dounuts I bought a dozen doughnuts, Half of them were cake doughnuts with coconut & all six were either over cooked or stale but were all hard & dry. the other six were grate. I'd bought the cake doughnuts with coconut before & they were always good. I called to tell them & they like questioned my integrity to say they would check with the bakery as if need confirm truth. I found it to be insulting & they lost a good customer! They had no apology or offer to make it right.
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. . .BAD CAKE Two days before my sister's wedding day, this bakery decided to notify her regarding the fact that they forgot to charge her for fondont icing. They asked for an addiitonal $300 eventhough it was wrote in the contract. In additon, they ruined the surprise of a groom's cake by telling the groom when calling their home. Harter's This bakery has been around forever for one simple reason- it is great! They have the best cakes and bakery goods around. They are more expensive than your regular grocery store, but are well worth it.
Harter Bakery is impressing! I have been in the catering management position for 4 years and the cake delivered to our venue on 10/30/09 was the BEST Wedding cake I have tasted. It was visually stunning, and one of our chef's agreed with me, that the cake was absolute PERFECTION!!--Black Forest Cake can sometimes go in either direction, but it was AMAZING--I will recommend Harter's to all of my potential brides whether they book with me or not!
