Crab dip was amazing!!! Service was excellent. From out of town we go to Busch gardens frequently, we usually stay at Newport News for Hoss deli now harpoons will be on the list!
My wife and I enjoyed it since it was convenient to our hotel off J Clyde Morris. We will be back again. More servers were needed though.
Was not impressed ,our server who was a male acted like he did not have enough time to take our order and then when I ask about alcohol he knew nothing about domestic beer.. Was down there for my daughter‘s wedding and thought I would try it on a friends advice... I would never invite anybody to try this over rated dive !!!!! Sorry Charlie
We had a horrible experience. My family and I had to wait for our drinks, the waitress didn’t bring out everyone’s food at the same time and we had to wait about 30 minutes in between for everyone. Then, there was a bloody fight in their kitchen and the waitresses and waiters were too busy looking at drama instead of taking care of their customers � I wouldn’t recommend going here. Ever.
This is one of my favorite places to hang out with my friends. We always have great food and great service.
For me there is a huge difference between the Harpoon Larry's in Virginia Beach versus Newport News. I wasn't really impressed with the Newport News location. There wasn't any taste in the crab cake and a big lack of lump. The mimosa had way too much champagne. The burger was good; the spicy relish was pretty good and i'm not typically a fan of relish. We sat down and the waitress came over pretty quickly to get our order. We got drinks and ordered food. She brought our food out, but we had no silverware. She took a couple of minutes to find some. She came back immediately to ask if the food was ok, we said yes.. and that was the last time we saw her for at least 20-30 minutes. My friends and husband threw me a surprise bday party there last Sunday with about 30 people and they requested Adam to be our server because he was so awesome to us once before and he did not let us down Sunday either!! He actually worked a double just to be able to work our party for us. The food was all great and came out fast. And no one waited long for drinks either! It was a great time!! Thank you Harpoon Larrys and Adam for providing us great food and service!!! Adam you Rock sir!!�
I don't normally do this but really annoyed with the service tonight. I ordered a drink which the waiter forgot, he also forgot my salad after coming back to let me know one came with the meal. I ordered pasta with shrimp and scallops and there were ZERO scallops in my pasta...I got I'm sorry..waste of 40 bucks and I will not be back!
