In the 1930s, a man with the unlikely name of Johnny Walker built a bar called the Cave Creek Corral. Walker’s creation was an instant sensation with cowboys, playboys, politicians and laborers who gathered to drink A-1 beers at wooden tables under wanted posters.Harold Gavagan and his wife Ruth bought the Cave Creek Corral in the mid 1950s. I love that there is a die hard Steelers bar here in AZ & I am a big Steelers fan my experience this past week end on Aug. 25, 2018 was not so enjoyable as the service we got was unpleasant I understand that people hold regular season seating there but this was just a preseason game & the place was not full & our server was not nice or friendly. Attended Steeler's preseason game yesterday. Had the Italian Stallion sandwich which was delicious and came with a mountain of French fries.
Simply the most classic of Cave Creek... I was frequenting this local hot spot over 40 years ago. Yeah... I was a whole lot younger then. 'Nuff Said.
It's been a few years but it was great all around.
