My husband just got back from what was supposed to be his second appointment with Debra Street. He arrived at the office for his appointment and finds out she canceled him altogether without any notice or any real explanation. She said he never filled out his paperwork, which is not true. All she could tell him was she gave his spot to someone else and that he should go somewhere else to get the help that he needs. My partner went to this Counseling Center for advice on how to better our relationship. The counselor he had kept commenting on things her husband used to do.... They were divorced. She kept repeating herself when it came to her EX husband every session... Not sure she should have been advising on relationships. This was my partners first counseling experience, and he was hesitant to begin with but I was proud of him for trying 3 or 4 times.Since it was a bad experience he's having trouble wanting to try again. I don’t recommend coming here if you’re looking to make progress. Zero empathy from Deb and her front desk lady (curly hair) was unbelievably rude!
Before I started one of my appointments she compared my problems to other clients and insinuated they were more important. And the advice she gave me on how to handle some of things situations were horrible. Very 1940’s answers. Don’t recommend unless you’re a young child who is threatening self harm.
