Incompetent I have experienced problems with Banfield Pet Hospital after signing up for the Optimum Wellness Plan that cost $455.40 for a year. I first brought my dog to Banfield located at 5013 S. Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida on January, 2010 because he was having skin problems. He was scratching, he had irritation on his body, he was licking his paws, and he had a foul smell. Happy Customer I brought my dog to Dana Niguel Veterinary Hospital because she had a spot on her eye. It was prioviously recommended to me that she have this spot removed. After examining her eye, Dr. Gary Johnson said the spot was harmless and recommend that we NOT remove it as it would be harder on my dog and the spot would more then likely return. Thank you Dr. Johnson for being honest and not putting my dog through an unnecessary surgery.
Great vet, but way too expensive and money grubbing My dogs got great care at Dana Niguel Vet Hospital, but everything was obnoxiously expensive. The final straw for me was when my older dog got an abscessed tooth. I took her in and spent $1100 to get it removed. They assured me that they would look at her other teeth while she was under. Caring and Competent Came home to find my beloved Lab unwilling to eat her dinner (for anyone who has a Lab, you know this is not a good sign), and at the same time realized she had been losing weight a little too fast and drinking alot of water lately. So, dashed her to the nearest vet thinking they will only be open another 15 minutes (5:45pm). Outstanding service We took our dog to another vet for weeks without a diagnosis on a problem that Dr. Johnson diagnosed in one visit. Even though we are 10 miles away, we will gladly drive to the office because we know that we will get terrific care from the doctors and their assistants. Even the office staff is great! 100%.
Cat Boarding I boarded my kitten there this past week for 4 nights. He is about 8 months-old and this was his first time away from home. He has had little exposure to other people and no exposure to other animals so, I was quite nervous to drop him off. The staff was amazing! They are incredibly friendly and I felt very comfortable with the level of care he would get. Excellent in care Excellent. The staff and the doctors there offer the best service. They are excellent with our cat as well as any animal that walks in the place. Can't find a greater place to take a furbaby!
Not my favorite We took our "adopted" dog here for care after we received her as it was where the previous owner took her. The dog was elderly and was diagnosed with cancer...after much discussion, we asked if we could have the dog put down and made an appt for the next day. The following morning I received a phone call telling us they could no longer put the dog down that day and to come tomorrow. Our kids had already had the emotional "good-bye". convenient with friendly employees This service is located inside Petsmart, which is really convenient because you can do your pet shopping and receive pet services all in one building. The staff has always been very friendly not just to me but to my dog and so I love taking him here.
