It was pretty good! I had the chicken fried steak with fries & dirty rice... and a stack of pancakes lmao!! But the pancakes were trash I’m just being honest they could be better. But overall the rest of my food was delicious.
It has been years since we last went the Happy's. Every bite was a culinary experience!!! Where do I start? The waitress was great! The beer was cold, my wife's hurricane was great! We got the seafood plate and a large froglegs plate so we could sample!!! The Boudain link was great!!! Best dirty rice I've had in years!!! The batter that the fish and frog legs, was spiced with just a touch of heat!!! It had been along time since we had been, but we'll be coming back often!!!
I went for the shrimp and grits, about that in a moment. Three ladies greeted me at door and one of them sat me, very friendly crew. I started with seafood gumbo and it was awesome. The shrimp and grits were authentic cajun right down to the green onion. Maybe the best grits I ever had, the olive oil and shrimp brought out the flavor. Five stars for Happy's.
