Roger was thorough and very knowledgeable. He documented everything he found and provided a complete report. He took the time to show us his findings, explain them, and gave us suggestions on how best to correct them. I highly recommend him for any house inspection.
Couldn't even get a quote from/past the receptionist, continually pushed me off stating, "I would have to ask you a whole bunch of questions" and we're scheduling out farther than would be acceptable for you (not knowing a single detail other than my name and I wanted a quote). Save your time and go somewhere else. I see that I received a response from the owner (even if it was a year ago it makes my blood boil). Mr. Hankey inspected a home for us yesterday. In advance of the inspection, we provided him with the seller's disclosure, some of their answers to specific questions about issues they had had in the home, and additional questions we were hoping he could answer. His inspection was thorough. He inspected all the things he told us he would inspect, plus answered all over our questions. Very experienced inspector. Did a thorough job, was very knowledgeable and was friendly.
While honest and helpful on many areas, he did a very poor job on the most important areas of the home inspection i.e. Floor joist inspection, rim joist inspection, missed important load bearing wall issues. Supporting beam issues. All these areas were easily visible for inspection. I would not recommend him as a home inspector. I think home buyers would be better served using a licensed inspector. Minnesota does not require home inspectors to be licensed.
