It was our first time staying there 7/18/25 & based off of the pictures & conversation prior to reservation it was not the same upon arrival... The guy at the front desk wasn't too welcoming... We mentioned that there was a lot of trash overflowing on the grounds from the outside garbages, flies all around & the guy mentioned, yes, it's unfortunate since we're lacking staff... John is an excellent attendant! Rooms were good, breakfast was good, location was good and close to Starbucks, gas stations etc. pool was warm! Great place for a good stay!
I had a very disappointing stay at the Hampton Inn on Sawmill Road in West Haven, Connecticut. The first room I was assigned had a horrible old moldy smell, and there was mildew all around the air conditioner and on the floor. Also the phones didn't work in either room making communication to the front desk difficult. I requested to be moved, and the second room was no better -- the ENTIRE carpeted area was damp to the touch, and I could feel that the floors were wet even with shoes off. My I’m traveling with my company. I came to this motel and was paid for for my company. I go down to give the clerk my current drivers license. I mean my car tag number and this white guy that has a beard down to his belly. Button is the rudest Most obnoxious customer service representative I’ve ever seen in my entire life last night. The lady put me in a room with two beds and told me the next day to come back down and then she would give me a room with one bed so that’s what I went down there to do the guy that was working... read more
