Wil at the front desk is phenomenal. He is super friendly, very helpful, and has a contagious smile. He is exactly who you're looking for in an employee! Great work, Wil!!!
This is a wonderful hotel to stay at. I stay often for work. Staff is friendly and very helpful with restaurant suggestions. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It feels like a safe area to stay in and not a lot of traffic. Unfortunately, this most recent time they had some type of construction work going on in the service drive between the hotel and Applebees at 130am until about 3am. It was so loud it was hard to sleep.

For our recent US tours, we deliberately chose hotels from several chains to ensure a somewhat objective comparison. The Hampton Inn is okay; it's a good place to stay. In our internal ranking, Hampton Inn ranks in the lower middle range, between Holiday Inn Express and Best Western. The noise level from outside is low. However, the hotel can't be blamed for the fact that children make noise in the hallway and adjoining rooms until well after midnight on weekends. It's no better elsewhere. Have previously stayed here several times as my hotel of choice in East Lansing, however, my last visit was so poor, I will never return. The elderly front desk lady did not great me buy exhaled and started the conversation that they were full from the previous night - despite the fact I had 2 rooms reserved. She would not acknowledge that I even had a reservation until I called Hilton Corporate office, and they ended up having to call to correct them.
