Hamakaze is my favorite MdR sushi and izakay place! They make a perfectly simple and delicious fresh tofu salad, which is my go-to every time. There are so very few places where you can even get fresh tofu. When I mention it to people it's like they've never even heard of fresh tofu, but for me, ... We waited over 45min for our food, other tables that came in 20 minutes after us had their food before we did. When I went to cancel my order with the server, it hadn’t been put in and it didn’t seem to be an issue on their end. There was no acknowledgment that our food was this delayed.

First time and last time at this sushi restaurant! The salmon and tuna sushi were the worst I have ever had in my life!!! The fish was not fresh and the rice fell apart in my hand! How can they get the rice wrong? The batter on the tempura was heavy and thick! We had to send the yellow tail back it smelled fishy. We did not want to get sick. Been coming here for what seems like over a decade and it still hits and the sushi is fresh. The service is fantastic and you will never go home hungry. I would choose Hamakaze over any of the other three sushi places in the area.
