A trip from Ohio to take my 80 year old father-in-law back to one of his favorite places growing up, only to be disappointed by the horrible service. The food was almost 5 stars but one of our meals was the blackened catfish that literally came out cold. Not warm, but cold. There were 5 of us. One meal was cold but the others were great. Now, the fried green tomatoes and fried banana pepper rings were outstanding, along with the hot browns and pulled pork. The service was not. This is a great hidden gem. It is a bit off the highway near the KY river, but the food was very good, the waitress was very nice and the restaurant has a lot of history making for a nice atmosphere.
Food was great and the atmosphere is great. We sat outside and had a wonderful view. Our server was slow in taking our order and checking on us.
This is such an amazing restaurant that you have to visit if you’re visiting Kentucky. I recommend this to every person that visits Lexington, Kentucky. It’s a beautiful drive to this location and allows people to see more than just the big city. The staff are nice and super helpful. The outdoor seating looking down under the river is also very cool.
