This review is long overdue. I was a patient of Dr. Zhang’s for probably 12 years. He is an excellent, knowledgeable psychiatrist. Dr. Zhang takes the time to listen to you and to work with you to adjust medications as needed. Over those 12 years, I went through different phases in my life and needed to adjust meds accordingly. To say I was not doing well when I started seeing Dr. Zhang would be quite an understatement. He was very patient about working with me on my prognosis. It took us a few months and some trial and error with certain medications, but I can confidently say that he's changed my life for the better. Helped me get over my hesitation about going to therapy, is very kind and understanding about things that are going on in my life that might be affecting me mentally, and has never pushed unnecessary treatments/solutions. This psychiatrist caused me more suicidal ideations than before I saw him. He called me “mentally lazy” and gave me mood stabilizers that left me debilitated and dysfunctional. His bedside manners are cruel at best and I genuinely hope no one ever has the misfortune of seeing this individual.
