RecommendedBeen going to Hagen's for over 35 years. Have lived in NW Burbs for the last 30 years and anytime I'm back in the city, I have to stop for their fried shrimp and chips. Haven't found any shrimp place that comes close to Hagen's... anywhere..!! Everyone I bring there becomes another fan of it!!

I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile, saw you featured on Chicago's Best. We tried the Fried Lake Perch, and Fried Shrimp. Delicious! We sat outside and viewed the neighborhood. 😊 What a nice outing after the Montrose Dog beach. The Smoked Salmon Candy was Amazing! Had it that evening. Definitely a place to visit again. 👍

I've Loved this place since I discovered it in 1979. Oh the cooked shrimp! Oh the cooked smelt! ❤️ They smoke their own fish here, and if you can get the smoked sturgeon (when available) "DO IT!" They are family owned, and I hope they stay forever! Anything they have is delicious and beyond! Standing room only, as this a small store with a ton to offer. I do believe their smoker is "grandfathered in." Check it out, you won't be sorry. ❤️
Love all their smokes and fried fish and shrimp. No place around like it. Every time I’m in the area have to stop in.
Best fried shrimp in the city. More importantly, one of the few places that sells Scandinavian foods, from Krisp breads to lutfisk and korv. It’s a treasure.
Been coming here for over 30 years never had a issue with the service or the food the staff is always friendly and service spot on
