was a member here for quite some time; nice equipment and Grace was awesome at the front desk! but the owner is almost pathologically unwilling to turn on the air conditioning in the summer. I saw it reach 85 degrees inside multiple times. his excuses ranged from "the AC is broken this week" (it wasn't ) to "some members want the doors open" (they didn't) to "it's only hot in the attic!" (there is no attic). anyway, it's $200 a month and even $20 a month gyms have air conditioning so save your money and go somewhere else!
Pains me to say this. Staff has always been great and professional, facilities are spotless, and machines and variety are top notch, but like the others have mentioned, the AC situation is unbearable. You cannot operate a gym with conditions like this. 84 degrees indoors to do heavy squats and lifting is unacceptable. We pay a heavy premium for a luxury gym and expect temperature to be comfortable. Nearly passed out today and had to cut my workout short. I’ve been a GymTonic member for 2 years now. Overall, I like the gym. They’ve added more squat racks which is helpful but I have to agree with the other poster on the downsides. 1) the dedicated free weight area with benches is limited. 3 adjustable benches and a 4th flat bench in that small area is not enough for the growing amount of members. 2)more importantly, the ac is either not working or not on at portions of the day and it makes workouts miserable. Really cool gym with a variety of equipment. It’s got a single location so they put a lot of care into their members with great amenities
