GWARbar is Richmond’s one true metal bar, but you don’t have to be a metalhead to enjoy the atmosphere and food. The food is not your run-of-of-the-mill bar food. The Buffalo cauliflower is a must! Their burgers are incredible, but so is their vegan fare. My one wish is that they’d expand and become a music venue, and be able to host private events.
Food was great and the staffing was friendly. The menu was different from other places but well executed. The next time I’m in the area I will have to plan a trip back.

Been several times - brunch, lunch and dinner. Food was AMAZING, staff super friendly and nice strong drinks. One of our favorite places to eat!!
It's mostly hype. GWAR is lame so don't believe the hype with their bar. They're only considered extremely cool in Richmond, VA; however, they aren't considered cool or noteworthy elsewhere. It is not the worst place; however, there are other bars in RVA with better prices and better quality people. It's mediocre or okay but not amazing.
