He was angry when I had a second opinion. The Drs at U of M questioned a treatment and that made him angry. I questioned his treatment and he was angry. His surgery was done well but he never even bothered to see me before the surgery, so I met him weeks before the cancer surgery and then saw him again two days after the surgery. Terrible personality for someone who is treating a serious disease.
Well if I could give a negative then that would explain my experience with this man. My family Dr had me go to this Dr for fibroids tumors. Upon a cf scan it showed a large mass, a ft over 12inches and carcinoma cells. He will not return your calls. His staff gives you excuses. He told me on my first visit that the only problem I had was I needed to lose weight and that menopause would take Care of the other problems. He is a jerk and I tell everyone to stay away from him.
My experience was very negative. He was rude and dismissive of my family's concerns while I was hospitalized. He told me how good he was, but his actions didn't follow through. i would never return to him, and I have been warning others about him.
Dr. Boike , by using robotics ,removed Lorna's uterine cancer this summer of 2016.She is currently finishing up with her preventive chemo which was done next door to his practice. We will now go to our winter home in fl. and follow up with some preventive radiation treatments. Dr. Boike has successfully removed a very large cancerous tumor during the hysterectomy he performed on her.Dr Boike is a great person and Dr. He took lots of time with us and explained every thing. His staff is great too

Dr. Boike is a wonderful surgeon. His care is excellent from pre-surgery until recovery and after.
If you have CANCER and need a caring Oncologist, this is NOT your doctor. He is NOT a team player and will NOT work with you or other physicians for the best interest in fighting your cancer. Very self involved and thinks he knows everything. He does NOT ! Suppose to be 'network' doctor with the world-renowned MD Anderson Hospital. He was NOT. Refused to consult MDA to confirm patient treatment. After we went to Houston ourselves, he no longer would treat us. Kicked us out of the office !
The guy is the biggest jerk ever. He refused to consult w/ MD Anderson's network of doctors after we asked several times. Then he refused to treat us after he discovered we went to MDA on own own for a second opinion for the treatment plan. Claims we don't have a 'good patient /doctor relationship' if we don't totally trust his care. Isn't this about the PATIENT and not his ego ? We reported him to the medical chief of staff and recently found out he no longer practices at Covenant. Go figure.
