Our family has been goi g to Gunther's since the opening. My husband was born in Oak Park in in 1944. We took our children and our children's children. We have not lived in Sacto since the late 1970's but will return with our great grandson. It is our history!
1st time - sought out because of Sac Bee article. Worth the drive from Lincoln. This month's special - carrot cake ice cream. Yum.
The 50/50 drinks with the fruit ices and the ice cream in between are great! I wish they could fix how they take orders. There is often lines out the door and down the block.
The worst thing about this place is that it is so popular the lines are usually really long and parking is slim. Best things are the fruit freeze, coconut pineapple and butter brickle ice cream. When my parents visit from the East coast I always take them at their request.

Best icecream in Sactown! The service, the location, the variety of flavors. Comming to Gunter's for 20+ years now, it's a family tradition worth keeping.
