Been going for a couple years now but this last time was our first back since they closed for a while last winter. Not sure what was done during the closure but it was nothing apparent. Service was fine as usual but the food definitely took a down turn. Certainly wasn’t impressed this time. Not in a hurry to get back for sure. Have always liked it, hopefully they’ll turn it back around food wise.

We just left Gulf Island Grill and it's one of our very favorite places..We drive over from Pensacola because I love the Shrimp!!! A little disappointed in the mashed potatoes tho, but Cameron our waiter made it up to me with a lovely piece of pie..� Thank you for another nice dinner out..See you again soon..

My wife and I have eaten at so many places in the last several years while camping in Gulf Shores, Al. We decided to eat at the Gulf Island Grill and it made us wonder why we waited so long. I know that no restaurant is perfect, but they sure make you wonder if it’s possible. Thanks Chelsea and staff for great food and a great experience. We will see you in April. Best food and dining experience we had our entire vacation in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores. The service was wonderful. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. Highly recommend
Whole family ordered burgers. Portions were small....only gave us 10 fries each. Fries and patties seemed like the cheap and frozen ones. Which is ok for a cheap burger...but it cost us $12 dollars a burger. Figured the portion would have been better. Waitress only brought us 1 packet of mustard when we asked for more. I literally drove to Hardee's after we left and got 2 of the $5 box meals to finish filling up my boys. Could honestly get a better burger...taste and value wise...and Sonic or burger king. The waitress, forgot the lime in my Corona, brought unsweetened tea to my wife when she wanted sweet tea, the French fries were cold, didn't know the menu & I had to ask for the hushpuppies that came with our poboys, and she brought us two. I would have given this restaurant a 1 star, but it's one of my wife's favorite places to eat! I however will not return!
