owner As the owner of Gt Japanese Automotive I would like to write a rebuttal to Michael K review. I am not "dishonest" when I quote price estimates. With the timing belt job on his 2000 Honda Civic with 213,000 miles, he failed to state in his review that he was supplying all the parts. Most repair shops will not install customer supplied parts or raise the cost to install them to cover the loss of income "every" repair facility makes on the parts they sell. Ripoff I went to this place for check engine light , my car can not pass the State of new Jersey inspection , until the check engine light is Fixed i went to this place , the Guy told me , it will take a 622 $ to fix the check engine light , and pass the inspection the guy did the repairs , give me my car back , next day the check engine light came back again , i went back to this place the guy wanted another 1000$ to fix the car again , he refused to honor his repairs that he has done a day before My advice is stay away fro... read more

Satisfied Customer One Friday evening, my vehicle broke down about 8 miles away from GT Japanese Automotive Inc, in Edison N.J. I called GT Automotive and the owner (Bill) arranged to have a tow truck pick-up my stranded vehicle and me. Bill stayed after hours to wait for me and provided me with a rental car for the weekend. By Monday afternoon one Bill's qualified mechanics had my car fixed. GT Automotive made a stressful situation pleasant. Thanks to Bill and his staff. Five stars to GT Automotive of Edison.

Great mechanic! Great customer service! Staff is very helpful and polite; not pushy and rude. They provide detailed explanations of the problems. All questions are patiently answered. Timely service and so far they have been able to fix all problems I have had with my car. Reasonably priced (although not cheap), and sometimes initial estimates are slightly higher than the actual cost. Sincere and hard-working.

An honest mechanic I have used GT off and on (when I have had Japanese cars) for about 10 years. My mother and sister have been using them just as long. They are an honest, hard working bunch. They are a little more expensive than some other places, but not so much that their honesty and integrity don't make up for it. Some of the same people still work there from the first time I used them, and they are good.
