I was born in Rochester but live in the Midwest. Gruttadaurias is the first thing on my mind when I visit and the last place I go before heading out. To open a box of cookies is a wonderful event, it always smells like home!
I recently ordered a small cookie tray for our son and daughter-in-laws anniversary as we are all originally from Rochester, but relocated to Florida. I was skeptical about having it shipped to Florida, but was assured by the gentleman that took my order that it would be fine. It arrived one day earlier than expected and when I took it from the box (filled with styrofoam peanuts), the actual tray was securely wrapped in bubble wrap and the cookies were definitely protected and fresh. Gruttadauria executed our dessert table for our wedding last year (7 cakes, 2 plates of cookies) to rave reviews. However, we were even more pleased when we thawed out our cutting cake this weekend for our one year anniversary. Even after 365 days in the icy depths of our freezer, the cake thawed beautifully and the buttercream was like-fresh. We would have eaten stale cake to celebrate, but glad we didn't have to! Thanks for everything!
