GBMC is the only hospital I go to.. I Love, Love the staff there!!!
Surgery is great there but God help you if you are in the ER. I have taken my daughter there several times in the past 2 years. Triage is great, but then you sit for at least 4 hrs. One time our wait was 6 hours then the doc saw her for 15 mins and she was released. What has happened to this place is beyond me. People sitting in the waiting room with I Vs and not being seen.
I have been in the ED with my mother for over 8 hours. We were told there was only one physician attending, how is this quality care? We have waited over two hours for sonogram results, blood work, and a CAT scan and nothing to show for it. This place is a wreck and I highly dissuade anyone from trying to go through this Emergency Department (that doesn't seem so emergent at all). The nurses were clueless and so were the assistants. I have only had great experience at GBMC. I went there with chest pains found out quickly I was having a heart attack, they don't do bypasses there, so they transported me to Johns Hopkins. I love that hospital too. Everyone was the best. I'm sorry you guys had a bad experience. It may have been long ke that wherever you went. Give these poor Dr. and nurses a break. They are so over worked.
Not that you ever what to "love" a hospital but I cannot say enough great things about how well they took care of my son last week! Their pediatric emergency and admitting dept were on point! Thank you for taking such great care of my little man!
I had a great experience! Came in with major stomach pain and they acted fast! Got my IV in fast and did my vitals, filled me up with fluids and gave me meds. Ended up with getting a CT scan and sonegram and got the results within an hour! The ER doctor was magnificent!!! Very kind and well bed side manners! The transport staff was super friendly and kind! However, the nursing staff was a little rude and ignored you at times. But all in all I would definitely go their again in an emergency! Great job guys!
