We drove from Shelton on a recommendation. The Grub Hut has the best burgers we've eaten in Washington State. We also had their split pea soup, it was fantastic. Very welcoming place.
We had never been, so since we were right there after training we went. The French dip and Cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese were great. Can't say much for the staff. Kind of a duh � when we were asked if wanted menus. It said if you show your military ID you got a free soda which was bogus. The customers were rude and bulldozed us. Would only order to go.

I had The Philly and my wife had the French dip! Both were outstanding!!!
I had the Krout Burger special (their spelling), which had saurkraut, Swiss and brown mustard with side of shoe string fries $8.75. I rate it a 10. Very juicy and tasty. They have 24 burgers plus 2 specials and 32 flavors of shake/malt flavors. Much better than Red Robin. Not a lot of sitting space, but turnover was quick. Music playing a bit loud, but was upbeat. Two Tvs playing, but no volume. Kids meals $5 and free drinks for military.
