PROS: Providers, Therapists, Patients CONS: I am the former medical assistant at GOC. If you are interested in seeking employment there I suggest you run!!! I invested 8 months before I did. You are nothing but a number!! The manager (L) and supervisor (J) are condescending and unprofessional. This place has changed my life. I was finally able to get the healthcare that I NEED through the services they provide here. It’s okay if it’s not a fit for you, but please do not disparage the hard work they put forth. I will say the organization of the front office is a little confusing, so anytime I have a concern about it I speak with one of my providers.
Dr. Okemwa is phenomenal. The way that she interacts with you immediately puts you at ease and relieves your anxiety in a way that allows you to completely express yourself. Being able to explain and share your feelings leaves you feeling relaxed.
I highly recommend Growth Opportunity Center to anyone looking for good quality, insurance-covered, virtual mental health care! I was nervous after reading some of the negative (though short and not descriptive) reviews here, but decided to call GOC and speak about insurance-covered psychiatry options to see for myself. If I could give zero stars I would. Someone struggling with mental health has a terrible time advocating for themselves. It took me years to find the right help. My very first experience, I started therapy at GOC with hopes of also seeing a psychiatrist for a lifelong struggle with depression etc. my therapist told me on the second session that she would be soon leaving for maternity leave.
