Educational and professional, an excellent surgeon and human being.
Professional but very down to earth & easy to talk to. Answered all our questions and helped us come up with a plan for care. We wished we have discovered North Canyon sooner.
They worked very hard to prepare me for my knee surgery. Even tried to get me in earlier. Thanks
DO NOT USE THIS SURGEON! Dr Grooms attempted to surgically repair my shoulder rotator and torn tendons. Not only was the surgery not successful but the joint became infected to the point the infection made it into the bone of the joint. This later had to be treated by 6 weeks of intravenous injections of a powerful antibiotic. Dr Grooms "suspected" my joint was infected but never addressed treatment. I broke my wrist end of March 2021, Elmore Hospital referred me to Dr. Grooms. To this day my right wrist is not fixed. Will not listen to me when I tried to tell him. To this day I have problems with my wrist. Terrible Doctor will not listen. Would not do follow up xrays that I asked for.
Dr. Guy Grooms performed total knee replacements for both of my knees in 2017. Prior to surgery he gave me possible solutions to help my problem of osteoarthritis so that I didn't feel rushed into making the decision of surgery. He does have a more quiet and serious personality but made me feel confident with his knowledge. Surgery went perfectly on both knees and I faithfully did recommended exercises that followed so quickly got back into my normal walking routine. I have no pain in either knee four years later!
I absolutely cannot recommend Guy Grooms to anyone. His listening skills are non existent on par with his bedside manner, when my surgery was over he didn't bother to speak to myself or my husband. After he performed a cubital/carpal tunnel release on my left arm , it is rendered useless. I am far worse off now, 8 months later, than when he performed the surgery. Awful. Would never ever go to him again or recommend him to anyone. Extremely rude. Horrible bedside manner and horrible post op care. Almost got an attorney involved.
DR. Grooms did a knee replacement on my right knee. it was late about 4 pm when i got to my room. the next morning i was walking a little. by the next morning i was doing so well i was released and went home. it has now been about two weeks. i have had no pain and am walking with out a cane, walker or help of any kind. i am 71 and live in the country. i can now walk to the mail box, take the dog for a walk and so on. there is only one person that made this possible, Dr Grooms.
