More than 35 years ago, Carl and Paul Grondin opened their first barbershop in a grain elevator in Dryden, Mich. In 1969, the brothers opened a barbershop in their hometown Dryden, and a shop in Lapeer, Mich., several years later. In 1976, Carl moved to California and joined a franchise company that managed a barbershop at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. In one year, he purchased the salon and became a franchise. Students needing practice Grondins is a "teaching" salon where the students provide the services under the direct supervision from the teachers. Everyone needs to practice their craft before they get good at it and Grondin's fees are minimal if your willing to let a student cut your hair.
Great Environment,Great Staff, Great prices. I go here regularly. I am not cheap by any means, but ive gone to many other salons in lapeer, paid full price, and been disappointed. You can go to Innovations or The Ritz and easily spend over a hundred dollars on a cut and color, or you could go to Grondins and pay at the most fifty. They are prompt and friendly which is often hard to find. Yes, they are students but never once have i left unsatisfied.
