A few months ago, I was looking for wormy maple for a dining room table. I had my very young kids with me. These guys were super patient, polite, helpful, and their lumber is top notch and reasonably priced. I could not be more happy with Groff and Groff.
They have a lot of really interesting and unique things here. I went there knowing I wanted something interesting for a desk - but not sure exactly what that would be. I found 6/4 curly sassafras with a live edge. Totally off the wall. I loved it because I had some sassafras poles on my property that I had cut down was was drying for desk legs. How appropriate to have a sassafras top! The guys there planed it and joined the edges for me for a reasonable price. Great service.
Hands down, the best lumber dealer I've ever found for the serious woodworker. The selection is huge, the quality of the stock is excellent, the pricing is very reasonable, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's an hour-plus drive for me to get there, but it's absolutely worth the trip. I won't buy hardwood lumber anywhere else.
