After a 7.5 hr craniotomy I had no real pain from surgery. Just irritated by 40 staples.
For those of you researching surgeons to remove your acoustic neuroma I highly recommend Dr Gregory Lekovic of the House Clinic. Dr. Lekovic along with his surgical partner Dr. Mia Miller and the entire surgical staff did an amazing job during the 14 hour operation to remove my tumor. Dr. Lekovic performed spine surgery on me several years ago. I do not recommend him. Period.
Dr. Lekovic performed a craniotomy on me at St. Vincent on 10/18/16 to remove a meningioma and he did a fantastic job. The surgery was a 100% success and he made the incisions almost all within my hairline so the scars don't hardly show. His team plus the neurosurgery center at St. Vincent were excellent as was the ICU care after the surgery. I only had to spend two nights in the hospital. Detailed phone consult and surgery scheduled a few weeks later. He spent a great deal of time explaining our situation. Post surgery he checked in everyday until I was released. He was so kind to my family.
He may be a fine surgeon, but his aftercare and bedside manner are nonexistent. Experiencing headaches post emergency neurosurgery for a brain bleed. He ordered a CT scan and still waiting 36 hours later for the results. Has not stopped by hospital after his office ensured that he would. Has not communicated in any way. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AND SCARED AND HE WILL NOT RESPOND.
