RecommendedGood food, the wait staff was very kind! Very pricey. $7 for 4 tiny samosas. While it wasn’t bad, I think the cost/benefit analysis will likely have me going to other places.
Green Elephant is my favorite place in Portland! I always order way too much food because everything is so delicious it’s impossible to decide. Also, the staff is simply lovely there.

Our first visit to Maine and the host at our B&B recommended the Green Elephant. It did not disappoint. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Service was great. Waitress was very friendly and very helpful in helping me decide on what to order. She was very attentive to us. The food was so good I wanted to lick the bowl! Wish there was a Green Elephant in Atlanta!
We made a special trip here this evening for my daughters birthday. I will start by saying the food came VERY quickly, which we appreciated having two little ones with us. The food was pretty good, but the spinach and cheese wontons were disappointing. There was quite literally no filling inside of them, and they had no taste at all. My daughter and I ate here on Friday June 8, I had the Pad Thai , which was amazing and my daughter something different it had noodles and ginger in it and she was very happy with it also.I felt the service was great.I will visit again next time I’m in the Portland area.
Absolutely delicious. Vegetarian for 25 years and it’s always great to go to a restaurant with so many options!!!��
